171:1 Questioning and Detaining Suspects. Amend RSA 594:2 to read as follows:

594:2 Questioning and Detaining Suspects. A peace officer may stop any person abroad whom he has reason to suspect is committing, has committed or is about to commit a crime, and may demand of him his name, address, business abroad and where he is going.

171:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

171:1 Questioning and Detaining Suspects. Amend RSA 594:2 to read as follows:

594:2 Questioning and Detaining Suspects. A peace officer may stop any person whom the officer has reason to suspect is committing, has committed , or is about to commit a crime. An officer may request the person 's name and address, but the officer shall not arrest the person based solely on the person's refusal to provide such information.

171:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
