AMENDED ANALYSIS

 

This bill provides that an insurer retrospective review of a claim for reimbursement for emergency services shall include consideration of the presenting symptoms, final diagnosis, and statutory definitions of emergency medical condition and emergency services.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nineteen

 

AN ACT relative to insurance reimbursement for emergency medical services.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

16:1  Coverage for Emergency Services.  RSA 417-F:2  is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:

417-F:2  Claims Processing.  An insurer retrospective review of a claim for reimbursement for emergency services shall include consideration of presenting symptoms, along with final diagnosis, and shall give due consideration to the definitions of emergency medical condition and emergency services in RSA 420-J:3.

16:2  Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
