This bill requires the department of transportation to install a traffic light in the town of Conway, complete certain upgrades to Route 153, and install a flashing beacon on the Mount Washington Auto Road.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nineteen
AN ACT relative to certain department of transportation projects.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Department of Transportation; Conway. The department of transportation shall install a traffic light at the intersection of Route 302 and East Conway Road in the town of Conway.
2 Department of Transportation; Eaton Village. The department of transportation shall complete upgrades to Route 153 from Eaton Village to the intersection with Route 16.
3 Department of Transportation; Pinkham Notch; Mount Washington Auto Road. The department of transportation shall install a flashing beacon on the Mount Washington Auto Road at the intersection of Route 16 and shall lower the speed limit to 40 miles per hour for .50 miles in both directions from such intersection.
4 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

METHODOLOGY:
This bill requires the Department of Transportation to complete three projects. The three projects will be funded using Federal and Betterment funds and are estimated to cost the following: $300,210 to install a traffic light in Conway at the intersection of Route 302 and East Conway Road, $1,710,000 to complete upgrades to Route 153 from Eaton Village to Route 16, and $66,000 to install a flashing beacon on the Mount Washington Auto Road. Total preliminary engineering expenditures are estimated to be $70,000, and be incurred in FY 2021, and total construction expenditures are estimated to be $2,006,210, and be incurred in FY 2023.
