ANALYSIS

 

This bill requires the governor to annually proclaim October 9 as pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder (PANDAS) and pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome awareness (PANS) day.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty

 

AN ACT proclaiming October 9 as PANDAS/PANS Awareness Day.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; Powers of Governor and Council; Observances Proclaimed by Governor; PANDAS/PANS Awareness Day.  Amend RSA 4 by inserting after section 13-z the following new section:

4:13-aa  Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders (PANDAS)/Pediatric Acute-Onset Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder (PANS) Day.  The governor shall annually proclaim October 9 as PANDAS awareness day so that patients, families and health care professionals can come together to raise awareness and spread understanding of pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder associated with pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder (PANDAS) and pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome (PANS).  The governor shall urge all citizens of this state to educate themselves about these disorders.   

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
