STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nineteen

 

AN ACT relative to group dog licenses.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Group Licenses; Dogs.  Amend RSA 466:6, III to read as follows:

III.  The fee shall be $20 for [the group license] for 5 dogs plus $1 per dog above the initial 5, $2 of which shall be remitted to the town clerk for deposit into the companion animal neutering fund, established in RSA 437-A:4-a, as the companion animal population control fee, and [$18] the remainder shall be retained by the town or municipality.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2019.

METHODOLOGY:

This bill would increase the annual fee for a group dog licenses from $20 to $20 for the first five dogs and $1 for each dog after the first five.

 

The New Hampshire Municipal Association indicates this bill would increase municipal revenues by an indeterminable amount.  The Association does not have information on the number of group dog license owners, where they are located, or how many dogs they have.  The Association states there will be no impact on municipal expenditures.

 

The Departments of Agriculture, Markets and Food indicates there would be no impact on state revenue or expenditures as the additional amount would be retained locally.
