STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty

 

A RESOLUTION urging the return of armed service members from the Middle East.

 

Whereas, the Pentagon reports that 7,000 United States military and Department of Defense civilians have been killed in operations in the Middle East since 2001; and

Whereas, 7,820 American contractors have been killed in these operations; and

Whereas 109,154 local police and military personnel are reported to have been killed; and

Whereas, approximately 244,000-266,000 civilians have been killed in the crossfire; and

Whereas nearly 1,000 journalists and humanitarian workers have also perished as collateral damage; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the New Hampshire house of representatives hereby calls for bringing home our armed service personnel from operations in the Middle East and an end to military actions and occupations of these countries.  Nothing in this resolution shall serve as a call by the President of the United States to ignore secret military intelligence that would render such a decision contrary to the national interest; and

That copies of this resolution, signed by the speaker of the house of representatives, be forwarded by the house clerk to the President of the United States, the President of the United States Senate, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, and each member of the New Hampshire congressional delegation.
