HOUSE RESOLUTION No. 18
Memorializing victims of Covid-19.
WHEREAS, since first being discovered in Wuhan, China in late 2019, Covid-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on March 11, 2020; and,
WHEREAS, this pandemic has affected all peoples and nations around the globe, through illness, knowledge of those struck by it, or the implications from it; and
WHEREAS, Covid-19 has taken the lives of over 360 New Hampshire residents, residents who had friends and families left behind, many of whom could not say goodbye; and
WHEREAS, Covid-19 has taken the lives of over 128,000 Americans and over 500,000 citizens across the globe; and
WHEREAS, the New Hampshire House of Representatives has a long-standing history of affirming its support for communities, states and nations throughout the world, especially in times of distress; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the New Hampshire House of Representatives mourns and honors the victims of Covid-19, offers its condolences to the families of the victims, and grieves with our communities; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the House of Representatives in regular session convened, offers its support, love, and prayers to the victims of Covid-19 and hopes for a speedy development of a treatment to bring this pandemic to an end.
