AN ACT relative to a technical change to certain appeals.

ANALYSIS

 

This bill removes an obsolete reference to appeal of the probate court's decision regarding the termination of parental rights.  The bill provides that the appeal in such cases shall be to the supreme court.

 

The bill is a request of the department of health and human services.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty

 

AN ACT relative to a technical change to certain appeals.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Termination of Parental Rights.  Amend RSA 170-C:15 to read as follows:

170-C:15  Appeals.  Any party aggrieved by any order or decree of the court may appeal [in accordance with RSA 567] to the supreme court.  The pendency of an appeal, or an application therefor, shall not suspend the order of the court regarding the child.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
