Floor Amendment to HB 1-A

Amend the bill by inserting after section 12 the following and renumbering the original sections 13-14 to read as 14-15, respectively:

13  Department of Health and Human Services; Appropriation; Family Planning Contracts.  In addition to any other funds appropriated, the sum of $1,240,000 for the biennium ending June 30, 2023, is hereby appropriated to the department of health and human services to fund family planning contracts.  The purpose of the appropriation shall be to address the anticipated gap in federal funding for family planning contracts.  In the event federal funds become available for this purpose, the unspent remainder of the appropriation, if any, shall lapse to the general fund.  The governor is authorized to draw a warrant for said sum out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
