AN ACT relative to termination of a state of emergency by the legislature.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty One

 

AN ACT relative to termination of a state of emergency by the legislature.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; Termination of State of Emergency by Petition.  Amend RSA 4 by inserting after section 45 the following new section:

4:45-a  Termination of State of Emergency by Petition.  For any of the purposes for which the legislature may pass a resolution in RSA 4:45 or RSA 490:6-a, a petition may be made in a like manner as provided for in RSA 16, except that petition shall be initiated and balloted in either chamber acting separately and be made to the clerk of the chamber, or the assistant clerk pursuant to RSA 14:4, who shall administer the balloting.  If approved by a majority of the members of the chamber, the chamber shall be deemed to have passed a resolution under RSA 4:45 or RSA 490:6-a.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
