1 State of Emergency Declaration. Amend RSA 4:45, II(a) to read as follows:

(a) A state of emergency shall terminate automatically 21 days after its declaration unless it is renewed under the same procedures set forth in paragraph I of this section. The governor may, by executive order, renew a declaration of a state of emergency as many times as the governor finds is necessary to protect the safety and welfare of the inhabitants of this state.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2022.

1 State of Emergency Declaration. Amend RSA 4:45, II(a) to read as follows:

(a) A state of emergency shall terminate automatically 21 days after its declaration unless it is renewed under the same procedures set forth in paragraph I of this section. The governor may, by executive order, renew a declaration of a state of emergency only once, unless the clerk of either chamber of the legislature, or the assistant clerk pursuant toRSA 14:4, has certified within the past 7 days that to the best of their knowledge half of the membership of the chamber is incapacitated or missing in which case the governor may renew a declaration of a state of emergency as many times as the governor finds is necessary to protect the safety and welfare of the inhabitants of this state. The general court may, by concurrent resolution, renew a declaration of a state of emergency as many times as it finds is necessary to protect the safety and welfare of the inhabitants of this state.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2022.
