AN ACT requiring The Universal Declaration of Human Rights to be placed in all public schools.

ANALYSIS

 

This bill requires the school board, or board of trustees of a chartered public school, to place a copy of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in all public schools and in every classroom where civics is taught.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty One

 

AN ACT requiring The Universal Declaration of Human Rights to be placed in all public schools.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; Declaration of Human Rights.  Amend RSA 189 by inserting after section 189:18-a the following new section:

189:18-b  Declaration of Human Rights.  The school board, or board of trustees of a chartered public school, shall place a copy of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the library, or other prominent place, of every kindergarten through grade 12 school.  A copy shall also be placed in any classroom being used for civics or history/social studies education.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
