METHODOLOGY:

This bill authorizes a person under the age of 18 to request a waiver of completion of a formalized driver education school.  Currently, the Division of Motor Vehicles has one staff member responsible for overseeing the driver education program.  This waiver process would require the addition of one part-time employee to ensure a timely review and response.  The addition of one part-time Program Assistant I position (labor grade 15) will cost approximately $25,000 annually in salary and related costs.

It is assumed any fiscal impact would occur after FY 2022.
