Floor Amendment to SB 271
Amend the title of the bill by replacing it with the following:
AN ACT relative to the Burgess BioPower facility and relative to the minimum wage.
Amend the bill by replacing all after section 1 with the following:
2 Minimum Wage Law. RSA 279:21 is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:
279:21 Minimum Hourly Rate. Unless otherwise provided by statute, no person, firm, or corporation shall employ any employee at an hourly rate lower than that set forth in the federal minimum wage law, as amended.
3 Payment of Subminimum Wages. Amend RSA 279:22 to read as follows:
279:22 Payment of Subminimum Wages. Except as provided in RSA 279:22-aa and RSA 279:26-a, no person shall employ any individual [with a disability] as an employee at an hourly rate lower than that set forth in RSA 279:21.
I. Section 1 of this act shall take effect upon its passage.
II. The remainder of this act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

AMENDED ANALYSIS
This bill requires the public utilities commission to revise certain orders relative to the Burgess BioPower plant in Berlin. This bill also clarifies when a minimum wage must be paid.
