HB 607-FN- FISCAL NOTE

AS AMENDED BY THE SENATE (AMENDMENT #2023-1911s)

AN ACT relative to the regulation of games of chance.

FISCAL IMPACT:      [    ] State              [    ] County               [    ] Local              [ X ] None

METHODOLOGY:

The Lottery Commission states this bill will change the maximum payout on games of chance where chips have no monetary value, allowing the licensee to retain 20% of the buy-in or $250, whichever is less.  This would permit the licensee to collect less revenue for larger tournaments, resulting in less revenue to charities.  Since state revenue is based on the buy-in, not the amount retained by the operator, the Commission states this bill would have no impact on state revenue.
