STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Three

 

AN ACT relative to the payment of salaried employees.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Protective Legislation; Payment of Wages; Payment of Salaried Employees.  Amend RSA 275:43-b, II to read as follows:

II.  Employers may prorate salary to a daily basis when a salaried employee is hired after the beginning of a pay period, terminates of his or her own accord before the end of a pay period, or is terminated for cause by the employer.  An employee who notifies an employer that he or she is ending her or her employment at a future date within the following 30 days shall be considered to have terminated such employment of his or her own accord, regardless of whether the employer chooses to continue the employment relationship until the future termination date set by the employee.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2024.
