STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Three
A RESOLUTION affirming New Hampshire's support for the State of Israel and the safety and security of its people.
Whereas, the United States and the State of Israel share a strong friendship based on mutual respect for democracy and freedom, sharing significant cultural, commercial, and diplomatic ties; and
Whereas, all sovereign peoples have a right to defend their lives and freedoms from attack; and
Whereas, Hamas launched a brutal terrorist attack on the people of Israel, killing more than 1,400 people including 30 American citizens, raped and murdered defenseless women and children, and kidnapped hundreds of hostages; and
Whereas, Israel has the right and responsibility to respond to such terrorist acts to defend its people and its very existence; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the New Hampshire senate supports the right of the State of Israel to protect its people and territory through the use of military force, and,
That the members of the New Hampshire senate demand that Hamas immediately release all hostages in its custody without condition, that Hamas immediately relinquish governing authority over Gaza, and that Hamas abandon its campaign of terror against the State of Israel and the Jewish people of the world, and
That copies of this resolution be transmitted to the Honorable Joseph R. Biden, President of the United States; the members of the New Hampshire congressional delegation; the Honorable Christopher T. Sununu, governor, state of New Hampshire; the Honorable Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister, State of Israel, and the Honorable Meron Reuben, Consul General of Israel to New England.
