STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four
AN ACT relative to allowing child support to include the period of pregnancy.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Paragraph; Definition of Child Added. Amend RSA 458-C:2 by inserting after paragraph II the following new paragraph:
II-a. "Child" includes a fetus.
2 New Paragraph; Application of Child Support Guidelines; Pregnancy. Amend RSA 458-C:4 by inserting after paragraph II the following new paragraph:
II-a. Child support may be ordered to include the period of time of pregnancy, starting at conception. Support may include obligations for the typical costs of pregnancy including medical care. Notwithstanding any other law, the child support order can apply retroactively to include the period of pregnancy.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2025.
