AN ACT relative to limitations on extradition.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT relative to limitations on extradition.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Proceedings in Criminal Cases; Uniform Criminal Extradition Law; Fugitives from Justice; Duty of Governor.  Amend RSA 612:2 to read as follows:

612:2 Fugitives From Justice; Duty of Governor.  Subject to the provisions of this chapter, the provisions of the Constitution of the United States controlling, and any and all acts of Congress enacted in pursuance thereof, it is the duty of the governor of this state to have arrested and delivered up to the executive authority of any other state of the United States any person charged in that state with treason, felony, or other crime, who has fled from justice and is found in this state, provided, however, that no person exercising that person's lawful right to keep and bear arms, without injury to anyone, shall be extradited for any offense solely alleging a violation of a firearm licensing regulation of another state.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2025.
