STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT relative to motor vehicle speed within 10 miles per hour of the speed limit.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Speed Limitations; Rules of the Road.  Amend RSA 265:60 II to read as follows:

II. Where no hazard exists that requires lower speed for compliance with RSA 265:60, I, the speed of any vehicle [not in excess] within 10 miles per hour of the limit specified in this section or established as hereinafter authorized shall be prima facie lawful, but any speed [in excess of] exceeding 10 miles over the limit specified in this section or established as hereinafter authorized shall be prima facie evidence that the speed is not reasonable or prudent and that it is unlawful:

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
