STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four
AN ACT relative to the carrying of alcoholic beverages on hotel premises.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Subparagraph; Hotel Full Service Restaurant; On Premises License. Amend RSA 178:21, II(b)(1) by inserting after subparagraph (D) the following new subparagraph:
(E) Sell beverages, specialty beverages, cocktails by the glass, and wine by the glass to a guest of the hotel who may carry one drink from the bar to the guest's room. A guest shall not take a drink out of the hotel into a vehicle, even if it is to drive to another part of the hotel. Nothing in this subparagraph shall require a hotel to enact a policy allowing guests of the hotel to carry one drink from the bar to their room and nothing in this subparagraph prohibits the hotel from designating areas where alcohol shall not be carried.
2 New Paragraph; Hotel Service. Amend RSA 179:27 by inserting after paragraph II the following new paragraph:
III. Notwithstanding paragraphs I and II, a guest may purchase a drink at the hotel bar or restaurant and carry one drink from the bar to the guest's room, under RSA 178:21, II(b)(1)(E).
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
