ANALYSIS

 

This bill removes the requirement that electronic ballot counting devices return the ballot containing an overvote to the voter and requires electronic ballot counting devices to report the tally of overvoted and undervoted ballots.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT relative to overvoted and undervoted ballots.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Electronic Ballot Counting Devices.  RSA 656:42, XI is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:

XI. Each electronic ballot counting device shall report the total number of overvotes and undervotes for every race and question on the ballot.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
