STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

AN ACT relative to requiring the display of certain information concerning Selective Service registration at driver licensing and school military recruiting locations.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1  New Paragraph; Drivers' Licenses; Compliance With Federal Selective Service Requirements.  Amend RSA 263:5-c by inserting after paragraph II the following new paragraph:

II-a.  At any location issuing driver's licenses within the state, a form concerning Selective Service shall be available and visible nearby which includes the following:

"Transparency in Military Recruiting

War in Afghanistan (2001-2021)

22,420 US service members dead.

20,713 US service members wounded.

46,319  Afghani civilians killed.

The United States invasion was in response to the September 11 attacks, with the objective of finding and destroying Osama bin Laden, al-Qaida leadership, and their allies in the Taliban. Bin Laden left the country shortly after our invasion and was eventually executed in neighboring Pakistan in 2011 by a precision special forces team.

The United States withdrawal in 2021 left approximately $10 billion in weapons, ammunition, and vehicles behind and the Taliban immediately retook control of the nation and these assets.

War in Iraq (2003-2011)

4,421 US service members dead.

32,292  US service members wounded.

Approximately 110,000 Iraqi civilians killed.

The United States invaded the country after claiming Saddam Hussein was manufacturing weapons of mass destruction and not complying with UN inspectors. No weapons of mass destruction were ever found.

A few years after United States withdrawal, the western region of the country fell under ISIS control, with much of the United States-donated Iraqi Army and police weaponry and vehicles, including M1A1 Abrams tanks, being captured.

Over 125,000 veterans have died from suicide since 2001. The suicide rate amongst veterans is more than 1.5 times that of the national average in America, and is the second leading cause of death for veterans under 45."

2  New Paragraph; Schools; Military Recruiters Access.  Amend RSA 186:68 by inserting after paragraph III the following new paragraph:

IV.  At any location in a public high school or all institution within the state university system hosting a military recruiter or administering the ASVAB, a form shall be available and visible nearby which includes the following:
