STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT relative to making New Hampshire a whistleblower sanctuary state.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; Whistleblower Protection.  Amend RSA 98-E by inserting after section 98-E:2 the following new section:

98-E:2-a  Whistleblower Protection.  For the purposes of this section, "whistleblower" shall mean someone who reports waste, fraud, abuse, corruption, or dangers to public health and safety to someone who is in the position to rectify the wrongdoing. No state employee shall in any way cooperate with any attempt by any person to detain, arrest, or otherwise harass a whistleblower in the state of New Hampshire.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
