STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT requiring fiber optic communications service providers to prioritize service restoration for public safety and public health organizations.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; Communications; Service Restorations.  Amend RSA 362 by inserting after section 7 the following new section:

362:7-a  Restoration of Service; Public Safety and Public Health Organizations.  A provider of communications services, as described in RSA 82-A:2, III, through fiber optic cables shall, upon a disruption of service, prioritize the restoration of communication and Internet access for critical infrastructure of public safety and public health organizations over commercial and residential customers.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
