Amendment to HB 1588-FN

 

Amend the bill by replacing all after section 4 with the following:

 

5  Appropriation; Department of Health and Human Services.  The sum of $3,000,000 is hereby appropriated to the department of health and human services for the biennium ending June 30, 2025, for the purposes of this act.  The governor is authorized to draw a warrant for said sum out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.

6  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

AMENDED ANALYSIS

 

This bill updates statutes relating to court jurisdiction of children in need of services to reflect that special education is offered to students up to the age of 22 years, if the student has not yet exited special education, based on receipt of a high school diploma, and makes an appropriation to the department of health and human services.
