Amendment to HR 30

 

Amend the resolution by replacing the eleventh and twelfth whereas clauses with the following:

 

Whereas, such curriculum would include:

I.  An acknowledgment that human activities have caused a crisis we are working to solve today.

II. A balanced historical background on the innovations that led to the discovery and use of fossil fuels, wind, solar, energy, efficiency, and the related benefits or costs to society ; and

Whereas, the climate crisis impacts New Hampshire today, including impacts such as warmer and wetter conditions, changes to extreme weather patterns and sea level rise; and

 

Amend the resolution by replacing the resolving clause with the following:

 

That the general court and by extension the New Hampshire department of health and human services, along with New Hampshire department of environmental services, work collaboratively to compile and disseminate robust climate education curricula to school districts so that teachers may be prepared to implement climate change education in their classrooms in high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools.
