Memorializing Arthur S. Ellison of Concord

 

WHEREAS, we have learned with profound sorrow of the death of our friend and colleague Arthur S. Ellison, who was serving his third term as a State Representative representing the citizens of Merrimack County District 28, wards 1, 2, and 3 of the City of Concord; and

 

WHEREAS, a dedicated civil servant, Arthur Ellison worked for 38 years in the Department of Education where he made a verifiable difference in the lives of countless Granite Staters; and 

 

WHEREAS, Art Ellison served the entirety of his legislative career on the House Education Committee where he was known as a consummate professional, who while passionate in his beliefs and advocacy, was never disagreeable, and was a pleasure to work with; and

 

WHEREAS, Art Ellison’s skill at organizing with the State Employees’ Association and within his caucus was acknowledged by his appointment as an Assistant Democratic Leader; and

 

WHEREAS, above all, Art Ellison was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who spoke lovingly of his family and his joy in being in their company as he bravely faced his illness; now, therefore, be it 

 

RESOLVED, by the House of Representatives in Regular Session convened, Arthur S. Ellison be granted the highest praise and accolades and our profound thanks for his service to his state, and the city he called home for many years, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that expressions of our most heartfelt sympathy be extended to his family and that a suitable copy of this Resolution be prepared for presentation to them.
