Floor Amendment to SB 503

 

Amend the title of the bill by replacing it with the following:

 

AN ACT relative to requiring a criminal background check when applying for a fish and game guide license and modifying the penalties for the possession or sale of certain weapons.

 

Amend the bill by replacing all after section 2 with the following:

 

3  Pistols and Revolvers; Carrying or Selling Weapons.  RSA 159:16 is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:

159:16  Carrying or Selling Weapons.  

I.  Any person under the age of 18 who carries on his or her person any blackjack, slung shot, or metallic knuckles shall be guilty of a violation; and such weapon or articles so carried by such a person shall be forfeited to the state.

II.  Any person who sells, delivers, or otherwise transfers any blackjack, slung shot, or metallic knuckles to a person under the age of 18 shall be guilty of a violation.

4  Repeal.  RSA 159:17, relative to exceptions to the prohibition against carrying or selling weapons, is repealed.

5  Effective Date.

I.  Sections 1 and 2 of this act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

II.  The remainder of this act shall take effect January 1, 2025.
