Amendment to SB 521-FN
Amend RSA 189:14-f, I as inserted by section 1 of the bill by replacing it with the following:
I. The state board of education shall grant the educational credential of master teacher to those persons who deserve recognition for the extraordinary learning opportunities they provide New Hampshire students and who have fulfilled at least the following requirements:
(a) Teaching experience exhibiting excellence in the classroom, including at least 7 years during which a teaching certificate requiring knowledge and performance of the professional education standards was held;
(b) Demonstrated quality teaching of the professional education standards with evidence of student growth and achievement; and
(c) The creation of a portfolio documenting leadership activities that is highly rated in the following areas:
(1) Professional classroom practice.
(2) Leadership and supervision.
(3) High expectation for students, ensuring that each child develops and realizes their full academic and social potential.
(4) Collaboration and congeniality.
(5) Professional development.
(6) Student learning climate.
(7) Evidence of working closely with parents and community.
