Amendment to SB 63

 

Amend the title of the bill by replacing it with the following:

 

AN ACT relative to the adoption of public health ordinances by municipalities.

 

Amend the bill by replacing all after the enacting clause with the following:

 

1  Local Adoption of Public Health Ordinances.  Amend RSA 147:1, I to read as follows:

I.  The health officers of towns may make regulations for the prevention and removal of nuisances, and such other regulations relating to public health for conditions unique to the town as in their judgment the health and safety of the people require, which shall take effect when approved by the selectmen, recorded by the town clerk, and published in some newspaper printed in the town, or when copies thereof have been posted in 2 or more public places in the town.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

This bill changes when town public health officials may make regulations relating to public health.
