Floor Amendment to HB 493

 

Amend the bill by replacing section 1 with the following:

 

1  New Section; Child Abuse and Neglect; Training for Licensure of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants.  Amend RSA 169-C by inserting after section 169-C:39-l the following new section:

169-C:39-m  Child Abuse and Neglect Training for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants.

As a condition for new or continued licensure in New Hampshire, physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who treat patients under 18 years of age shall be required to complete one hour of education on child abuse and neglect.  This education shall be accredited for category 1 medical or nursing hours and shall be recognized by the New Hampshire chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics as covering the topics of recognition, reporting, and working with the child protection system.
