Floor Amendment to HB 612-FN
Amend the title of the bill by replacing it with the following:
AN ACT enabling the division of motor vehicles to create a temporary traditional driver's license for youth operators about to turn 21 and relative to declaring the third week in September to be New Hampshire service dog week.
Amend the bill by replacing all after section 1 with the following:
2 New Section; Service Dog Week. Amend RSA 4 by inserting after section 13-dd the following new section:
4:13-ee Service Dog Week. In recognition of the profound impact that service dogs have on the lives of individuals with disabilities enhancing their independence, mobility, and overall quality of life, and inviting the governments, communities, and people of this state to observe such week with appropriate ceremonies and activities, the governor shall proclaim the third week of September of each year as service dog week to honor the incredible contributions of service dogs, to honor the dedicated individuals who train and care for these remarkable animals, and to celebrate the profound bond between service dogs and the individuals they serve.
I. Section 1 of this act shall take effect July 1, 2025.
II. The remainder of this act shall take effect upon its passage.

AMENDED ANALYSIS
This bill:
I. Allows the division of motor vehicles to create a temporary traditional driver's license for youth operators whose youth operator license will expire in 30 days or less.
II. Declares the third week in September to be New Hampshire service dog week.
