STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Five
AN ACT relative to mile markers along Route 112.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Installation and Maintenance of Mile Markers.
I. The department of transportation shall install mile markers along the length of Route 112, also known as the Kancamagus Highway, from the town of Lincoln to the town of Conway and may install mile markers along Route 112 from the town of Bath to the town of Woodstock.
II. Generally, mile markers shall be installed at regular intervals of not greater than one mile and shall be clearly visible and legible to motorists and emergency personnel. The department of transportation may omit mile markers along densely developed segments of highway.
III. The department of transportation shall maintain the mile markers installed pursuant this section in accordance with, and subject to, the applicable provisions of the Federal Highway Administration’s Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
IV. Prior to installation the department of transportation shall meet with public officials from the town of Lincoln and the town of Albany to provide information on mile marker design, proposed locations and traffic impacts.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 18 months after its passage.

METHODOLOGY:
This bill, effective 18 months after passage, requires the Department of Transportation to install mile markers along the length of Route 112, also known as the Kancamagus Highway, from the town of Lincoln to the town of Conway and authorizes the installation of mile markers along Route 112 from the town of Bath to the town of Woodstock. The Department has provided the following assumptions relative to this bill:
