HB 719-FN- FISCAL NOTE

AS INTRODUCED

AN ACT repealing the use of unused district facilities by chartered public schools.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Department of Education states this bill has no fiscal impact on state, county and local expenditures or revenue.

METHODOLOGY:

This bill eliminates the requirement that charter schools are provided the right of first refusal for unused district facilities. Under current law, districts and charters would complete the transaction at a fair market value. Under the proposed bill, its assumed transactions would continue to be fair market value. It is unlikely this bill would impact the frequency that unused facilities are sold by districts, and therefore not expected to have an impact on state, county, and local revenues or expenditures.
