Amendment to HB 778-FN

 

Amend the title of the bill by replacing it with the following:

 

AN ACT authorizing the director of the police standards and training council to detail law enforcement training specialists employed by the council for law enforcement and crowd control services and relative to disability retirement benefits.

 

Amend the bill by inserting after section 1 the following and renumbering the original section 2 to read as 3:

 

2 New Hampshire Retirement System; Disability Retirements Benefits.  Amend RSA 100-A:6, II(e)(2)(A) to read as follows:

(A) The member is found to be [mentally or] physically incapacitated for the further performance of duty and that such incapacity is likely to be permanent;

AMENDED ANALYSIS

 

This bill:

 

I.  Authorizes the director of the police standards and training council to detail law enforcement training specialists employed by the council for law enforcement and crowd control services, upon request of the state, county, or local law enforcement agency of jurisdiction.

 

II.  Removes mental incapacitation as a justification for disability retirement benefits for certain group II members.
