Amendment to SB 117-FN-A
Amend the bill by replacing all after the enacting clause with the following:
1 Appropriation; Department of Education. The sum of $1,000,000 for the biennium ending June 30, 2027 is hereby appropriated to the department of education to continue the state’s online tutoring program. The governor is authorized to draw a warrant for said sum out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated. These funds shall be non-lapsing.
2 The department shall report annually, beginning June 30, 2026, on the use and effectiveness of the program to the governor, the president of the senate, the speaker of the house of representatives, the chair of the house education policy and administration committee, the chair of the house education finance committee, the chair of the senate education committee, and the chair of the senate education finance committee.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025.

AMENDED ANALYSIS
This bill makes an appropriation of $1,000,000 to the department of education to fund the online tutoring program and requires the department to report on the program annually.
