ANALYSIS
This bill indemnifies both house and senate sergeant-at-arms staff from civil claims or actions where the staff member was acting within the scope of their public duty. The indemnification of the sergeant-at-arms staff also requires that the acts committed within the scope of their duty were not considered wanton or reckless.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
3:1 Indemnification of Sergeant-at-Arms Positions. Amend RSA 14:50, II to read as follows:
II. When in the performance of their duties legislative security staff members shall be entitled to the same indemnification of state officers and officials as provided in RSA 99-D:2. The provisions of this paragraph shall also apply to each of the house and senate sergeant-at-arms staff.
3:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
