1 Qualifications for Office; School District Elections RSA 671:18 is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:

671:18 Qualifications.

I. ?To become a candidate for any school district office, a person must be a registered voter in the district. ?No person shall simultaneously hold more than one of the following offices: member of school board,?school district moderator,?school district treasurer,?school district auditor,?school district clerk,?or budget committee member-at-large under RSA 32:15 covering the school district, or advisory budget or finance committee member under RSA 32:24 covering the school district.? No person employed on a salaried basis by a school administrative unit or by any school district within a school administrative unit shall be a school board member,?budget committee member-at-large under RSA 32:15, or advisory budget or finance committee member under RSA 32:24?for?any district of the school administrative unit. ?Salaried positions shall include, but are not limited to, the following: ?teacher, custodian, administrator, secretary, school bus driver (if paid by the district), school lunch worker and teacher's aide.

II. ?No person shall at the same time file a declaration of candidacy for any 2 or more elected offices that are incompatible under paragraph I nor shall they file a declaration of candidacy for an elected office that is incompatible with an office in paragraph I that they currently hold??when the current term of the held office extends past the election for the filed declaration of candidacy.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
