STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six
AN ACT relative to speed regulation on Route 125 in Brentwood.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Purpose. The general court hereby finds that a Road Safety Audit completed in February 2024 concluded that lower speed limits may enhance safety on this stretch of highway. The purpose of this act is to enhance public safety for all users of Route 125 in Brentwood.
2 New Subparagraph; Speed Limit on Route 125 in Brentwood. Amend RSA 265:62, IV by inserting after subparagraph (b) the following new subparagraph:
(c) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph I and RSA 265:60, II, the speed limit on that portion of Route 125 located in the town of Brentwood, between the Epping town line and the Kingston town line, shall be 45 miles per hour. The department of transportation shall install suitable signage reflecting the posted limit on this segment. The local police department shall have primary responsibility for enforcement.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
