AN ACT prohibiting the discrimination against cash buyers in business transactions.

This bill prohibits businesses from refusing a buyer of a good or service because they seek to pay for the good or service with cash.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six

 

AN ACT prohibiting the discrimination against cash buyers in business transactions.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Chapter; Retail Installment Sales And Services.  Amend RSA by inserting after chapter 359-U the following new chapter:  

CHAPTER 359-V

RETAIL INSTALLMENT SALES AND SERVICES

359-V:1  Discrimination Against Cash Buyers.  No retail establishment offering goods and services for sale shall discriminate against a cash buyer by requiring the use of credit by a buyer in order to purchase such goods and services. All such retail establishments shall accept legal tender when offered as payment by the buyer.  

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
