STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six

 

AN ACT establishing a state minimum wage and providing for incremental increases.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Minimum Hourly Rate.  RSA 279:21 is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:  

279:21 Minimum Hourly Rate.  

I. Unless otherwise provided by statute, no person, firm, or corporation shall employ any employee at an hourly rate lower than the greater of:  

(a) The minimum hourly rate established under the federal minimum wage law, as amended; or

(b) The minimum hourly rate established in paragraph?II.

II. The minimum hourly rate under this section shall be:  

(a) Beginning September?1,?2026,?$12.00?per?hour.

(b) Beginning January?1,?2027,?$14.00?per?hour.

(c) Beginning January?1,?2028,?$15.50?per?hour.

(d) Beginning January?1,?2029,?$17.00?per?hour.

III. Each successive rate set forth in paragraph? II shall supersede the rate previously in effect, and that rate shall remain in effect until amended by a subsequent act of the general court.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2026.
