1 New Section; The State and Its Government; Department of Education; Education Opportunities Information System. Amend RSA 21-N by inserting after section 13 the following new section:

21-N:14 Education Opportunities Information System.

I. The department shall develop and maintain, or purchase and implement, a school educational opportunities information system to include information on and the location of all public schools, chartered public schools, non-public schools, learn everywhere programs, and other education opportunities. The system shall:

(a) Provide detailed profiles for each education opportunity to enable a robust search function.

(b) Provide for search-saving criteria, sorting, and keyword searching.

(c) Provide a mapping function, with a function to search for education opportunities within a specified distance from an address.

(d) Enable education facilities to maintain their own data.

(e) Be capable of being accessed via the department's website.

II. The department shall issue a request for proposal for the development or licensing and implementation of the system.

2 Department of Education; Appropriation. There is hereby appropriated to the department of education the sum of $1 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027 for the purpose of developing and implementing an educational opportunities information system. The governor is authorized to draw a warrant for said sums out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 30 days after its passage.
