HB 1819-FN- FISCAL NOTE

AS INTRODUCED

AN ACT relative to review of education freedom account service providers.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This bill requires the State Board of Education to annually review Education Freedom Account (EFA) service providers for compliance with all state and federal anti-discrimination laws.  The Department of Education assumes the current scholarship organization will perform the administrative tasks required for these reviews after an amendment to the existing contract is executed. The scholarship organization’s administrative fees will cover any additional expenses incurred from the added responsibilities. Therefore, it will have no impact on state expenditures relative to implementation.
