AN ACT requiring all schools to start the school year after Labor Day.

ANALYSIS

 

This bill requires that all schools in New Hampshire begin the school year no earlier than the day after Labor Day.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six

 

AN ACT requiring all schools to start the school year after Labor Day.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; Start of School Year.  Amend RSA 189 by inserting after section 1-e the following new section:

189:1-f  Start of School Year.  No school board shall permit a school to begin its school year prior to the day after Labor Day, as defined in RSA 288:1.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2027.
