ANALYSIS
This bill adds advanced practice registered nurses and physician associates as medical professionals who can:
I. Document a lasting medical necessity, which allows for a vehicle equipment waiver for persons with disabilities to be granted for 4 years instead of 2 years; and
II. Exempt a child from certain required immunizations if they find that the immunization may be detrimental to the child's health.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Equipment Waiver for Disabled. Amend RSA 266:61-a, VII to read as follows:
VII. The waiver granted by the commissioner or his designee shall be for a period not to exceed 2 years; except in any case where a licensed physician, advanced practice registered nurse licensed under RSA 326-B, or physician associate licensed under RSA 329-D documents a lasting medical necessity, in which case the waiver shall be for a period not to exceed 4 years. The applicant may reapply for the waiver before such period expires.
2 Communicable Disease; Immunization Exemption. Amend RSA 141-C:20-c, I to read as follows:
I. A physician licensed under RSA 329, or a physician exempted under RSA 329:21, III, an advanced practice registered nurse licensed under RSA 326-B, or a physician associate licensed under RSA 329-D certifies that immunization against a particular disease may be detrimental to the child's health. The exemption shall exist only for the length of time, in the opinion of the physician, advanced practice registered nurse, or physician associate, such immunization would be detrimental to the child. An exemption from immunization for one disease shall not affect other required immunizations.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
