Amendment to SB 495
Amend the title of the bill by replacing it with the following:
AN ACT increasing the limit for transfers of appropriations in Carroll County and altering the appointment process for the board of tax and land appeals.
Amend the bill by inserting after section 1 the following and renumbering the original section 2 to read as 3:
2 Board of Tax and Land Appeals; Appointment; Term; Chairman. Amend RSA 71-B:2 to read as follows:
71-B:2 Appointment; Term; Chairman. The members of the board shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the governor and council, rather than fixed terms. The governor and council shall appoint one member as chairman to serve in that capacity for the duration of his or her term. The executive council shall hold a hearing prior to confirmation according to the procedures under RSA 4:44.
