1 Short Title. This act may be known as and cited to as the "Granite State No Anonymity in Immigration Enforcement Act".
2 New Section; Participation in Federal Immigration Officers; Requirements for Law Enforcement Officers. Amend RSA 106-P by inserting after section 1 the following new section:
106-P:2 Requirement for Law Enforcement Officers.
I. Any state or local law enforcement officer who is assisting the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement pursuant to the federal 287(g) program as outlined in RSA 106-P:1 shall be required to adhere to all of the following while performing duties pursuant to a 287(g) program:
(a) Each officer shall clearly display either their name or their badge number.
(b) No officer shall wear any facial covering or mask.
(c) No officer shall disable or disengage their body-worn camera.
II. State and local law enforcement agencies shall develop disciplinary measures for officers who do not comply with paragraph I.
III. All complaints alleging violation of this section shall be forwarded to the department of justice's civil rights unit for investigation.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
