STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six
AN ACT relative to a certain highway sign in Concord.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Subparagraph; Regulation of Erection and Maintenance of Certain Advertising Devices. Amend RSA 236:74, IV by inserting after subparagraph (g) the following new subparagraph:
(h) Notwithstanding any provision of this paragraph to the contrary, a nonprofit entity, including but not limited to the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce and other Concord-based nonprofit organizations, may erect and maintain one advertising device within 500 feet of Exit 12 on Interstate 93 in Concord for the sole purpose of advertising nonprofit events and places of interest in downtown Concord. Such device shall:
(1) Be located on a parcel or easement approved by the City of Concord, with all necessary municipal approvals obtained;
(2) Comply with the size, lighting, and structural requirements established by this section and the city, and shall display only events and destinations sponsored by Concord-based nonprofit entities;
(3) Not display any commercial advertising;
(4) Specifically exclude the City of Concord as an eligible sponsor, owner, or payor, to avoid conflicts with city ordinances;
(5) Be funded and maintained only by eligible nonprofit organizations or the Chamber of Commerce itself;
(6) Be subject to limits on the number of events or rotating messages as determined by municipal approval; and
(7) Otherwise comply with all requirements of this section, except as specifically modified by this subparagraph.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
