Floor Amendment to SB 667-FN
Amend RSA 631:1, I(e) as inserted by section 1 of the bill by replacing it with the following:
(e) Knowingly causes serious bodily injury to any emergency room personnel acting in the line of duty. For purposes of this subparagraph, "emergency room personnel" means a person in a hospital emergency department who, in the course and scope of their employment or as a volunteer, provides services or medical care, or who assists in the providing of services or medical care, for the benefit of the general public, including, but not limited to, any health care professional, emergency department clerk, emergency department technician, student, and emergency department volunteer working in the hospital emergency department. This section shall not apply to a person experiencing a mental health crisis who has a mental health diagnosis, a person who has a dementia diagnosis, or a person who has a disability such as an intellectual or developmental disability that impacts the person’s ability to effectively communicate.
Amend RSA 631:2, I(g) as inserted by section 2 of the bill by replacing it with the following:

AMENDED ANALYSIS
This bill establishes felony-level offenses for the assault of emergency room personnel, subject to certain exceptions.
